Highway Striping Technician

About this position

The Highway Striping Technician is a detail-oriented professional responsible for applying road markings on streets, highways, and transportation infrastructure throughout Acadiana and surrounding parishes. This position ensures compliance with Louisiana DOTD safety regulations while creating safer driving conditions for all motorists and pedestrians.

Key Responsibilities

·       Operate and control striping equipment to apply paint, thermoplastic, and other marking materials on roadsurfaces.

·       Read and accurately interpret project plans, specifications, and technical drawings.

·       Conduct routine maintenance and equipment checks on striping machinery.

·       Work effectively with team members to complete roadway marking projects on schedule.

·       Maintain detailed records of completed work and materials used.

·       Follow and execute detailed project specifications and safety requirements.

Job Requirements

·       High school diploma or equivalent certificate.

·       Valid Louisiana driver's license.

·       Flexible scheduling availability including weekends.

·       Consistent attendance record and reliable transportation.

·       Previous highway construction or striping experience preferred.

·       Prior traffic control experience preferred.

·       Capability to read and understand blueprints and project specifications.

·       Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and seasons.
